D3rivé
In the philosophical aspect, ~metaMap[沼]D3rivé is the journey as a creative
act. The idea's basic premise was to explore the individual's environment as though it was
a part of a shared space; without expectation or preconception, as though there was no
previous understanding. Together they looked into a metropolis of space, therefore their
space existed as a common, occupied and shared whole.
Metamap started as a collaboration of artists from multimple disciplines. Drifting according
to discussion; working under shared notions of making a journey. Throughout the discussion
which each artist would, in succession, take and report on a journey through artistic
documentation across a broad range of communicative media and through explination in
discussion. The collaboration would end only after the last journey had been made and all the
documents had been collected.

PROJECT ABSTRACT:
Each participating artist was to document a journey, the documents of which would
be displayed together in different or combined meta and virtual spaces in which the
artists were living in as a collective. as the collaboration was held between long
distances, using communicative medias was completly integrted with the whole
experience.
Starting with the first person every participant took and mapped a journey. The
distance of the journey marked by 'milestones;' points of documentation or mere
notation. Lines taken from the journeys as they are marked on a map, were passed
around and combined to find different routes as the lines were replaced over different
areas of the globe and rewalked by other artists.

<stimulus/responce> exhibition.
The artwork, as it was represented in the exhibition in Vienna (Oct. '07) challenged
modes of long-distance collaboration. Temporal and spatial distances were
transformed by harmonized genio/cultural topography, composed through the
documentation of real-life short trips made by the participating Artists.
The resultant drew those visited places into a singular fabricated location through
which viewers were invited to take a journey into the shared and individual
environments of the artists.
